WHO ARE WE?
RIA ABYA YALA is a dynamic network of feminist activists who aim to eliminate gender-based violence through education, awareness campaigns, and dedicated advocacy for women's rights.
Using the ESD methodology (empowerment-based Self-defense), RIA ABYA YALA has trained more than 100 ESD instructors in various countries in the LAC region, reaching more than 6,500 people through its workshops and trainings.
RIA's mission is to establish ESD as a key strategy to prevent gender violence in Latin America and the Caribbean, providing a platform for education, activism, support services, and accompaniment.

WHAT WE OFFER?
Regional capacity building
By coordinating and overseeing training programs for ESD instructors/facilitators in Latin America and the Caribbean, RIA LAC also plays an active role in promoting, advocating for, and supporting the collection of data that highlights the significance, need, and efficacy of 'Empowerment-based self defense' initiatives.
Support to emerging leadership
RIA-LAC supports and nurtures a community of experts in self-defense, generating a platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge for co-creating tools through forums, webinars, work tables, and virtual and face-to-face meetings. "RIA's work is based in the exchange of knowledge and experiences."
Strengthening alliances and networks
Through RIA's platform, we co-create and promote collaborations and alliances with different sectors, promoting synergy between actors, organizations, institutions, and people and materializing new projects, programs, and events.
